This year’s Arizona Bowl was star-studded, action-packed and filled with opportunities!
The weekend of festivities kicked off with a behind-the-scenes tour of Arizona Stadium giving youth a platform to learn about careers in sports and entertainment outside of playing or performing. The S.T.E.A.M. L.A.B.S. Stadium Tour explored the Success Beyond Game Day by Samantha Card approach to “go pro in life” uncovering career pathways that go beyond the game, stage, field and mic, diving into how sports, entertainment and innovation collide to create endless opportunities. Participants had the opportunity to engage and connect with careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, Leadership, Atheltics, Business, and Service (S.T.E.A.M. L.A.B.S.) and learn how to turn their current hobbies or passions into achievable careers.
On game day, GISA Ambassadors took to the Non-Profit, Community Village to connect with the community at our photo booth, spread the good word about Goodwill’s programs, and connect with other non-profit community resources. Youth program participant Marcellous “AJ” Jordan, carried the Goodwill flag from endzone to endzone on the field during the first quarter break, walking right past AZ Bowl host, Snoop Dogg, in the process!
The entire weekend was nothing short of a blast! We’re looking forward to next year’s bowl game and all the incredible opportunities it will bring to our community and our program participants!
