Homeless Youth Outreach

  • Posted by: Goodwill of Southern Arizona

Outreach in the Streets

The Goodwill Metro/REC staff members joined forces with Our Family Services to conduct street outreach near the Laos bus station on Irvington. Water bottles, socks, beanies, hygiene supplies, program flyers and information about where to apply for housing were provided to community members. This outreach effort is part of the Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness (TPCH) Youth Homeless Demonstration Project.

Helping to Fight Youth Homelessness:

Goodwill is working with YHDP to address youth homelessness in Pima County. Goodwill Metro Youth Center and Goodwill REC Youth Center seeks to disrupt the causes of youth homelessness by engaging youth in leadership roles to provide a peer-to-peer approach to the engagement of homeless youth in education/academic services and providing youth a pathway to access critical community services that enhance health and well being.
