Goodwill is working with YHDP to address youth homelessness in Pima County. Goodwill Metro Youth Center and Goodwill REC Youth Center seeks to disrupt the causes of youth homelessness by engaging youth in leadership roles to provide a peer-to-peer approach to the engagement of homeless youth in education/academic services and providing youth a pathway to access critical community services that enhance health and well being.

Metro/REC Education and Employment Coordinator

The Metro/REC Education and Employment Coordinator will lead academic and employment efforts with homeless youth, aged 12-24, associated with the HUD grant- ‘Goodwill’s Metro/REC Re-engagement Project for Homeless Youth’ at Goodwill’s Metro Youth Centers. The primary role of the Metro/REC Education and Employment Coordinator will be to develop and spearhead service delivery in the areas of education and employment.

Metro/REC Community Engagement Coordinator

The Metro/REC Community Engagement Coordinator will provide case management, support services and outreach to homeless youth age 12-24 associated with the HUD grant- ‘Goodwill’s Metro/REC Re-engagement Project for Homeless Youth’ at Goodwill’s Metro/REC Youth Centers. This position will oversee the hiring, training and ongoing management of three part-time youth Peer Outreach and Engagement Specialists, as well as the development and coordination of a youth leadership committee comprised of 10-12 youth. The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, conducting community outreach to potential service partners and participants; planning and hosting community resource and service learning events; providing service linkages and referrals to youth; and coordinating the activities of the Peer Outreach and Engagement Specialists. The Metro/REC Community Engagement Coordinator will ensure compliance with accepted standards, federal/state requirements, HUD grant deliverables and Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona’s policies and procedures.
