COMMUNITY VIOLENCE INTERVENTION

Community Violence Intervention (CVI) is a broad approach across system partners and the community, bringing together community members, social service partners, and government to prevent violence, strengthen neighborhood resilience, and build trust.

The Village Program, a community violence intervention (CVI) program and hospital-linked violence intervention program (HVIP). With the intent to reduce crime throughout the Tucson community, The Village Program will provide trauma-informed intervention and case management services to people at risk or injured by community violence. The Village Program will coordinate services and resources with community agencies, county services, healthcare professionals, and community groups in the city of Tucson. This program is grant-funded by the Department of Justice.

The Village Program is a community violence intervention (CVI) program and hospital-linked violence intervention program (HVIP). The Village Program coordinates services and resources with community agencies, county services, healthcare professionals, and community groups in the city of Tucson. This program is grant-funded by the Department of Justice.

The goals of The Village Program are to:

  • Reduce re-injury and re-hospitalization for survivors of violent injuries
  • Support positive development and holistic healing for survivors and families affected by violence
  • Foster awareness in the community for violence prevention and recovery strategies
  • Interrupt the cycle of community violence
