Circular Design Challenge @ TENWEST

  • Posted by: Jill Sommers

We were thrilled to be a part of the Circular Design Challenge – No Scrap Left Behind Workshop at this year’s TENWEST Festival. Shout out to our friends at Sonoran Stitch Factory and Thread & Theory for leading the workshop, guiding participants through three different stations so they had a sustainable keepsake to take away that day! Some worked on making tote bags out of thrifted T-Shirts, others made woven keychains and scarves by cutting thrifted materials into strips and braiding them together with a special pattern. One participant even made a ponytail holder!

It was such a wonderful way to kick-off sustainability month a few days early! Upcycling is a great hobby, and an even better opportunity to practice sustainability within our community. Stop by your local Goodwill today and see what inspiration finds you!
