Workforce Development Programs Presentation

Last Friday on April 26th, Goodwill of Southern Arizona held a Workforce Development Programs Presentation for our staff to get orientated to the amazing youth and adult programs, their various roles and responsibilities within our organization, and the wonderful folks that make these programs possible. Our 12 programs are funded through a combination of retail sales, grants and contracts.

The Young Adult Reentry Program

Supports 18–24-year-olds get back on track through learning skills, earning certificates, academic planning, gaining work experience/employment, and providing one-on-one case management.

The Adult Reentry Work Experience Program

Supports motivated justice involved individuals gain work experience and training through various skill-based workshops. The goal is to successfully complete 220 hours of paid work experience and secure employment.

The Youth Employment Program

Through a contract and funding with Arizona@Work One-Stop, Pima County the Youth Employment Program places youth ages 14-24 with local employers during the summer or after school to attend training and gain paid work experience.

Career Centers

Located inside the Goodwill Retail stores, our career centers provide one-on-one support for individuals seeking employment. Folks can develop digital skills, financial skills, interview skills, and more! The Career Centers are one of the programs that is fully funded through retail revenue.

The Group Supported Employment Program

Provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to work in a community integrated work environment, with maximum interaction, earning real pay for real work. GSE is funded by DES/DDD and Goodwill.

The Youth Reengagement Centers

A place for youth ages 12- 24 to focus on reaching their academic-related goals, earn industry-recognized credentials, attend workshops, participate in bereavement support groups, and engage in community service-learning events. The Youth program also introduced their new program through the Community Violence Intervention department that focuses on youth gun violence–The Village Program.

Employee Development and Training Programs

Dedicated to supporting Goodwill employees develop their career, pursue education, and provide training.
